Last October, we officially launched our new 400,000-square-foot manufacturing and R&D campus in Richmond, Virginia. Over the past several months, our teams have been hard at work scaling operations and aligning them with our broader strategy of serving high-demand markets like data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, and other climate-critical industries.

A Physical Symbol of Localized, Reliable, and Scalable Solutions

Richmond sits near one of the fastest-growing and most important tech corridors in the country: Northern Virginia.  This prime location, in an area known as “the data center capital of the world,” gives our customers a meaningful edge: reduced transportation costs and shorter speed-to-market.

But our reach goes well beyond Virginia. From this new facility, Condair can ship to 45% of the U.S. population within a single day. That reach—paired with access to the region’s high-tech workforce—makes Richmond a vital hub for our North American operations.

Governor Youngkin Hails Condair as a Growth Catalyst

When Governor Glenn Youngkin visited the facility in October 2024, he underscored Condair’s role in powering Virginia’s tech and healthcare sectors. “The products Condair manufactures here will be the engine behind our data center industry, the atmosphere in our hospitals, and so many other great end-use applications.”

Gov. Youngkin applauded our choice of location as well. “Virginia is the perfect location for an international company like Condair to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to meet the large-scale cooling needs of the data center industry.”

A New Era of Evaporative Media Manufacturing

Now that our Richmond facility is live, we’ve begun implementing world-class manufacturing practices and advanced automation to meet the high standards our customers expect. Our approach is built on three core pillars: quality, efficiency, and scalability. Here’s how that comes to life:

• Engineered Automation.  We have made significant investments in automating equipment and production processes. For example, our investment in Gen 3 lines has already resulted in better throughput with fewer manual touches. Accomplishing this has increased efficiency and enhanced our product quality, resulting in expanded productivity and capacity without added cost.
• Scalability by Design. Our new 400,000-square-foot Richmond facility was built with the future firmly in mind, supporting our vision for long-term growth and reinforcing our commitment to the region. By investing in a facility that can flex and expand with market demand, we stand ready to deliver what our customers need—when they need it.
• Next-Gen R&D Capabilities. Enhanced in-house product development and testing facilities area are enabling us to rapidly drive innovation even faster, keeping Condair at the forefront of technological advancements in evaporative cooling media. Plus, being close to many of our large data center customers provides the added advantage of being able to test our products in real-world environments.
